Our Writing
"Mom and Dad, if you ever read this then it is because I survived and published this sad attempt at a biography of depression. Please forgive any of the discoveries you make while reading. I love you."
~ Linea’s Journal
Linea began writing in journals when she was very young. She continued to write through her depressions and manias, while hospitalized, and while fighting to stay whole. Her writing is a telling story of young person’s struggles with the onset, diagnosis and treatment of bipolar disorder.
Linea and Cinda are completing a book that encompasses these years, giving the reader an inside passage to the thoughts, feelings, love, and "craziness" of mental illness. The story shares Linea's fight to understand why her world is turning upside down and Cinda's and her families' efforts to keep her daughter safe and receive the treatment she needs.
The book encompasses Linea’s real-time journals along with Cinda’s powerful retelling of the chaotic events that surrounded her daughter’s diagnoses with bipolar, her hospitalizations, treatment, and support.. This unique perspective offers hope, information and resources to educators, health professionals, parents, friends, and those on their own journey with bipolar disorder or other mental illnesses.
Progress and updates on this book will be shared here.
